"The FASTEST ATV You Can Buy" - 3&4 WHEELER mag. Vehicle Description Send me your e-mail address and I can forward the magazine article. Got beat bad on the Fourth of July riding weekend? Dial into this quad and seek revenge on the LAbor Day weekend ride! Race-ready- just add your #. You can only imagine how FAST this Original Owner-Showroom condition approx.12 actual trail-riding hours, maybe 20 hrs total on machine keeping fluids/bearings fresh. Plastic has NO scratches whatsoever. Imported from the United Kingdom in 1996. There are only 2 of these hand made machines in the United States as far as I have ever known, so youll never run into one on the dunes or trail. And, talk about attention at the ride staging areas. The couple of times I rode at public riding areas created quite a crowd. Motor and trans parts still available at your local KTM dealer. Why spend thousands re-fitting a Japanese bike with parts made from a hundred different manufacturers that are not always designed to interact properly along with a motor "time-bomb". All of the main components on this machine were made by Phillips Racing to work together seamlessly, efficiently and balanced, with a stock motor that isnt even ported/polished yet. Not that Ive read every issue of every ATV mag- but I dont recall the Phillips quads ever losing a "Shoot out" type article- even against the EML European quads. These machines DOMINATED the European Race circuits with over 25 National and European Championships against all the Japanese bikes and usually took the top 5 placings in the 24 hour cross country races in France. These machines were also asphalt raced and geared for 130 MPH speeds on Gran Prix tracks throughout Europe. The riding teams basically adjusted carb settings for the environment, then went racing. Most bearings are sealed and require no maintenance. Dry weight: 340 lbs- hows that for horsepower to weight ratio? NEVER happen with a four-stroke MX bike! Engine: STOCK 550cc single 2-stroke single MXC motor- SOLID mounted- NO rubber mountssee frame/chassis. Transmission: 5-speed Carb: Keihin PWK 39mm Exhaust: Hand welded and tuned for this motor- triple nickel plated. Frame/chassis: Alloy/steel for strength where needed/chromoly. Frame is "Frequncy tuned" to cancel out most motor vibration and has skid plates. The impressive hand made craftmanship of the Europeans is very evident in the welding, gussetting, and component powdercoating quality throughout the rolling chassis. Even the top serrated surfaces on the foot pegs still have a perfect finish on them. Shocks: Werks Performance 2 and 3 way adjustable front and rear with 12 1/2" travel A-arms: adjustable camber, welded 3 position lower mounts for fully adjustable ride height/handling in front. Self lubing maintenance free sealed bearings. Front end can be lowered to just inches off the ground for sand/drag racing. Swing arm: tubular alloy with adjustable link for ride height adjustment. Brakes: Brembo used for superstreet bikes, ferraris and lamborghinis, etc. dual caliper with stainless lines and discs front and rear Rear axle: Philllips heavy duty adjustable 47-51" with alloy adjustable rear eccentric cam, alloy disc and sprocket carrier and double-locking alloy rear hubs. Wheels: 4Douglas Red dot heavy duty w/Turf Tamers still have the "whiskers" on them with 2 10 paddle Skat track rears used 1 time. Controls: Magura dual-position twin cammed twist throttle. CC setting normal riding for me anyway and MX setting for 1/3 twist full throttle hit too much for me. Magura levers and cables w/kill switch tether. Handlebars: Phillips 4-piece handlebars with vibration dampening rubber grommetted union just inside "grips". Also has sterring dampner with multiple mounts. Lighting: Ive added a complete Suzuki LT500 lighting and engine controls for night time riding. Misc.: Alloy front bumper, rear grab, and nerfs. Maier 250R race plastic. IMS 3.9 gal extended range fuel tank. Custom air box with K & N foam air filter. Extras: have complete engine and trans manual. Ive changed the fluids every year last 5 months ago and ran her down the street every other month or so except Winter months to keep bearings and fluids fresh. Cant really say much more about this perfect machine. Have $14,900.00 invested in the quad, including lighting, US tarrifs and customs fees, and overseas freight shipping.
